The Caledon Welsh Pony Show is a point show for the High Point Award Program and a point show for the Champion of Champions for the finals at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.

Prizes:

Breeding Division – $10, $8, $6, $3 + Ribbon

Performance Division  – $17, $12, $8, $5 + Ribbon

Junior Division – Ribbons to 5th place

Entry Fees:

Breeding Division – $3.00

Performance Division – $5.00

Junior Division      – No Fee

 

BREEDING DIVISION

 

Section AWelsh Mountain Ponies – 12.2 HH and under, registered in Section A of the Welsh Stud Book

 

W1.  Two year old & under – colt, filly or gelding

W2.  Three year old & over – mare

W3.  Three year old & over – stallion or gelding

 

Section B – Welsh Ponies – not to exceed 14.0 HH, registered in Section B of the Welsh Stud Book

 

W4.  Two year old & under – colt, filly or gelding

W5.  Three year old & over – mare

W6.  Three year old & over – stallion or gelding

 

Section C – Welsh Ponies of Cob Type – not to exceed 13.2 HH in Section C of the Welsh Stud Book

 

Section D – Cobs – Registered in Section D of he Welsh Stud Book, over 13.2 hands with no upper limit

W7.  Two year old & under – colt, filly or gelding

W8.  Three year old & over – mare

W9.  Three year old and over – stallion or gelding

 

Half Welsh – one parent must be registered in either Section A, B, C, or D of the Welsh Stud Book

W10.  Two year old & under – colt, filly or gelding

W11.  Three year old & over – mare, gelding or stallion

W12.    Senior Showmanship – Handler to be 18 years of age and older – Sections A, B, C, D & Half Welsh

 

WELSH CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS QUALIFIER

Not to have qualified at another show.  Half Welsh are not eligible.

 

  1. A) Two year old & under – 1st place winners of Sections A, B, C, D
  2. B) Three year old & over – stallion or gelding – 1st place winners of Section A, B, C, D
  3. C) Three year old & over – mare – 1st place winners of Section A, B, C, D

W18.      Child’s Pleasure Pony – 12 years of age & under. Walk, trot

W26.      Welsh Pony Under Saddle Stake – Adult or Junior to ride – Section A, B, C, D – mare, gelding or stallion.  Please note that stallions may only be shown by an adult in any class.

 

Champion Welsh Pony & Reserve Under Saddle – Adult or Junior to ride – Section A, B, C, D – mare, gelding or stallion – 1st & 2nd placings in classes W21, W22, & W23 are eligible

PERFORMANCE IN HARNESS DIVISION

To be shown in a suitable 2 or 4 wheeled pleasure vehicle.  Type of harness is optional.  Adult or Junior to drive.  Drivers to carry a whip and wear a hat, gloves and driving apron.  Drivers under 18 years of age must wear an ASTM approved equestrian helmet. Juniors may not drive stallions.
