2021 Letter from our President: Ed Taccone
The Caledon Agricultural Society has been holding Fairs near Caledon Village since 1860. We look forward to a celebration of our past, recognition of today while cultivating the future!
Ours is truly a wonderful rural community and we have so much to be proud of. As you enjoy our Fair, we hope you will reflect on those that came to the Caledon Village community 200 years ago. These early settlers left successive generations with ongoing inspiration to grow and improve their lives. Today, our rich legacy is to proudly showcase all that is good about living in a farming community as rich and diverse as Caledon.
Every year, Caledon Fair day is good family fun and rural charm at its best. Our Fair is a showcase for our heritage, our agriculture industry and the incredible talents within our community. Best of all, it is a great opportunity to meet friends and neighbours, to share conversations about times past and to exchange thoughts and dreams for the future of our community. To each and every one of our exhibitors, we are much blessed with your talents and we thank you for your participation. Our sincere appreciation goes to our members, sponsors and community supporters who help us throughout the year. Our Fair could not exist without the willing hands helping with the Fair, Canada Day Strawberry Festival, other events and ongoing grounds repair and maintenance work parties. A special thank-you to our Hall Division, volunteers, the Fair Committee and C.A.S. Directors for all your hard work.
Thank you to the Town of Caledon, Region of Peel and Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Canada’s Heritage Ministry for continually supporting us year after year. Thank you to all our sponsors, and individuals for all your donations in kind. You are the link that keeps us going and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Looking to the future, we invite and warmly welcome community participation. We invite and welcome your participation!
Even though we can’t spend Fair weekend 2021 together due to Ontario’s Health protocols during the Covid-19 Pandemic, we’re thinking of you all, and we hope that you will participate in our Virtual Fair. We’re accepting competition entries during May and will post the winners on our new website during our normal Fair weekend, June 11, 12 and 13.
